Sample Schedule
Fitness- directed physical exercise and stretching Preparation time- students change into uniforms and get ready for the day Class- students work on individual curriculum with direction from teachers and teaching assistants as necessary.
Progress Review- students meet with family representatives and peers to discuss progress toward achieving individual program goals.
Leisure- students engage in self selected non-academic activities such as reading, playing board and card games, working on puzzles and various arts and crafts.
PE- Students participate in various physical activities usually games (basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, etc…) students not interested in participating in the competitive sports are able to run or walk laps in order to meet the requirements. Students are awarded .5 academic credits of PE for every 90 hours of participation.
Reading- students may read approved self selected materials as well as novels required for academic courses. Reflections- student journaling process in which students respond to specific questions pertaining to overall health and wellbeing, success or failure in attaining daily goals, and establishing goals for the following day. Buddy Review- students meet briefly with their assigned buddies to discuss the successes and failures of the day as well as identifying areas for introspection. Educational Video- students watch videos on various educational subjects. |
